Mariola Wawrzusiak

Bestiary 2.0

Uniwersytet SWPS in Warsaw, 2018

Animals welded from scrap metal filled the halls of the Warsaw campus of SWPS University. The exhibition Bestiary 2.0 by Mariola Wawrzusiak offered an encounter with art that merges the power of nature with the rawness of industrial material.

From January 9 to 31, 2018, visitors could see sculptures depicting owls, ants, monkeys, bats, and a moose — symbolic animals brimming with expression and energy. The artist draws inspiration from her hikes in the Bieszczady Mountains and her fascination with the natural world, giving discarded materials new life in the spirit of ecology and emotional closeness to nature.

The exhibition had previously been shown in Poznań, while the Warsaw opening, attended by the artist, took place on January 9.
