Meeting of First Lady Anna Komorowska with Students and Pupils of the Da Vinci Schools
It was a visit full of symbolic gestures and concrete actions. The First Lady met with artists, activists, and young people to jointly celebrate initiatives that build community and provide real support. From Poznań came a clear signal that solidarity can take the form of an institution, a theatre, a dialogue.
On September 17, 2013, Anna Komorowska, wife of the President of Poland, visited Poznań as the honorary guest of the opening gala of Scena Wspólna — the first theatre in Poland co-run by a school (Teatr Łejery) and a cultural institution (the Children’s Art Centre). During the ceremony, she watched a theatrical showcase prepared by pupils and emphasized in her speech the importance of fulfilling dreams and creating shared spaces for young creators.
That same day, Anna Komorowska officially opened the Cyryl Ratajski Greater Poland Centre for Solidarity Economy — an institution supporting the long-term unemployed, aimed at fostering integration and social entrepreneurship. The Centre was created through cooperation between local government, NGOs (including the Barka Foundation), and expert communities.
At the end of her visit, Anna Komorowska met with students of the Higher School of Humanities and Journalism and young people from the Da Vinci group of schools, answering questions about the role of the First Lady, the behind-the-scenes of official visits, and private life. The meeting became an open conversation where symbolic representation met the everyday experiences of young people.
