Tischner Variations – Philosophical Cabaret

Aula Artis, 30 October 2025

“Tischner Variations” is a unique performance that entertained, moved, and encouraged reflection. It was based on the bestseller “Philosophy in the Highlander Style” by Father Józef Tischner — a work in which everyday dilemmas are intertwined with universal questions about human nature, all presented with warmth, humor, and the colorful Highland dialect.

A journey into the world of Tischner

Just as Ancient Greece had its philosophers, Poland has for centuries had its “myndrols” — Highland thinkers of flesh and blood. “Tischner Variations” is an invitation into the world of an outstanding philosopher and storyteller, presented as a journey full of wisdom, optimism, and Highland humor.

On stage, anecdotes, dialect, music, and dance straight from the Podhale region came together. It was a sentimental journey through the winding paths of the art of “myndrkowanie,” in which trivial everyday matters carried the same weight as questions about the meaning of the world and human life. Tischner shows that everything — from love to philosophy — can be translated into the Highland dialect.
