A Unique Concert by Tomasz Stańko at Aula Artis
On January 19, a unique concert by Tomasz Stańko and the RGG Trio inaugurated the reopening of Aula Artis. The legendary jazz trumpeter presented his latest compositions, continuing a series of acclaimed performances across Poland. Some of these had been previously performed with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra.
The performance was a rare opportunity to hear one of the finest concert projects in Tomasz Stańko’s career. The quartet, featuring pianist Łukasz Ojdana, bassist Maciej Garbowski, and drummer Krzysztof Gradziuk, won praise from critics and audiences alike, receiving enthusiastic reviews.
Tomasz Stańko is one of the most important figures in Polish and international jazz. Since the 1960s, he has been constantly experimenting, drawing inspiration from the greatest masters of the genre. His work is both innovative and widely acclaimed. His collaboration with Krzysztof Komeda, as well as his contribution to film music, holds a special place in his legacy.
The concert became one of the key events marking the reopening of Aula Artis. A space that had long served an academic function has once again returned to its role as a vital cultural landmark in Poznań.
