From Picasso to Warhol. Master Prints 1964–2003

Poznań, Warszawa

In 2004, thanks to the collaboration between the Voelkel Foundation, the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, the National Museum in Poznań, and one of the world’s most prestigious art galleries, Marlborough Gallery in New York, an extraordinary exhibition, From Picasso to Warhol, was brought to life.

First presented at the National Museum in Poznań and later at Ujazdowski Castle, the exhibition showcased over 100 prints by 28 world-renowned artists. Among them were works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon, Louise Bourgeois, Henry Moore, and Magdalena Abakanowicz. Many of these works had never before been shown in Poland.

The exhibition Master Prints of the Second Half and Turn of the 20th/21st Century revealed the extraordinary richness of graphic techniques — from etchings and woodcuts to screenprints, lithographs, and experimental mixed methods. It offered a comprehensive look at printmaking as a fully-fledged artistic medium, bearing witness to the diversity of creative expression and formal exploration.
