Adam Garnek

Art in Motion, 2019

Poznań, Art Haven

Adam Garnek’s exhibition Art in Motion, presented at Art Haven, was centered around the interactive sculpture Turbine. The artist, known for creating metal objects with both functional and performative qualities, once again invited viewers to take action.

The ten-meter-long Turbine, weighing one and a half tons and built from sixteen rings covered with small plates, could be set in motion by the audience. The spinning sculpture generated unusual sounds, blurring the line between sculpture and instrument. This was its second presentation, following an earlier display at Artists’ Square in Kielce.

At the Bałtyk office building, four additional works by Garnek were also shown — varied in form and mood, yet all stimulating imagination and redefining the relationship between art and its audience.
