The Earth We Belong To, 2025
Jakub Julian Ziółkowski’s The Earth We Belong To is a monument to spirituality and sensuality in a world that is constantly changing. The installation was unveiled in May 2025 at Poznań’s Old Market Square, near the entrance to the Municipal Gallery GaMA.
The sculpture recalls a monumental totem, woven from simple symbols and abstract forms — a hallmark of Ziółkowski’s artistic language, through which he conveys intuitive, sensual, and nature-rooted spirituality. Echoes of mythology, Paleolithic cave paintings, organic matter, and contemporary awareness intertwine here. As in his painting and music, form becomes sound, and symbol becomes story.
This work is not just a piece of art. It is a narrative about life and the world we belong to — told through the simplest of symbols, yet profoundly contemporary.
It also serves as a point of reference for residents of nearby neighborhoods — a delicate cosmos built of emotions and meanings, permeating the city’s daily life. It is an invitation to contemplation, introspection, and a renewed way of seeing the world — the Earth we are a part of.
